WATCH: William Patrick Corgan Covers Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" ... Again

Last week, William Patrick Corgan threw fans for a loop when he covered Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” at Toronto’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre. It was a move about as confusing as the Foo Fighters-Rick Astley pair-up. But, just as the Foos have embraced their unlikely friendship with the Rick Rolling subject, WPC has reportedly praised the “Wrecking Ball” singer for being more talented than most pop stars out there, whether you like her music or not. What’s more, according to Spin, Corgan also said he’d be down to work with the singer if the opportunity presented itself. So there’s that.

In any case, if you just try to take your mind off the fact that he’s singing Miley Cyrus, WPC’s cover actually sounds pretty amazing. Don’t believe us? Watch the below clip—Corgan sang the track again while backstage at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon set.

In other WPC news, the Smashing Pumpkins frontman recently opened up about why he’s traded in the familiar “Billy Corgan” for the full “William Patrick Corgan.” Speaking with CBS This Morning, he essentially said that he realized the name change seemed to bother people, and—in typical Corgan fashion—that’s exactly why he wanted to roll with it.

To be honest, it’s really not that weird or shocking even. William is his full name, after all. Case closed.
