In a new film project, A Day in the Life of America, Thirty Seconds to Mars is looking to capture a full 24 hours in the life of Americans in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.

To do so, the band is sending film crews to capture the “real America” on the Fourth of July across the country—and they’re also asking fans to send in their own video and/or photos, showcasing what’s important, inspiring, or challenging for Americans in their state. The project isn’t limited to Americans, though. 30STM is asking fans outside the US to share their thoughts on the American dream and the country in general.

Frontman Jared Leto told People that a National Geographic book with a similar goal fascinated him as a kid, and while working on the band’s yet-to-be-released album, common themes became apparent, which led him to spearhead A Day in the Life of America. It also looks like the project will fold into the band’s forthcoming album, so 30STM fans will have much to look forward to!

If you’ve got a story to tell, you can send in your piece as early as midnight on July 4. Learn more about the project here and in the below videos!
