In 2005, Andrew McMahon was diagnosed with leukemia, and in an effort to help adolescents and young adults battling cancer, he founded the Dear Jack Foundation.

At a recent benefit concert for the foundation, the Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness frontman arranged a meeting between bone marrow donor Doug—who was inspired by McMahon to make a donation in the first place—and recipient Chris.
