Chris Cornell is among several artists who turned rebel singer, songwriter, and all-around legend Johnny Cash’s poems into songs for an upcoming album, according to Entertainment Weekly.

In 2016, Cash’s son, John Carter Cash, compiled his late father’s poems into a book, Forever Words: The Unknown Poems. Now, his latest project is taking those poems and setting them to music for the Johnny Cash Forever Words: The Music album, selecting artists to put music to the poems, and Chris Cornell recorded one of them before his untimely death.

As Pitchfork points out, the roles were reversed in the '90s, when Cash covered “Rusty Cage,” one of Cornell’s Soundgarden songs, on his 1996 album, Unchained.

TBD on when Johnny Cash Forever Words: The Music will be released, but it looks like we’ll have a pretty cool song to look forward to.
