Speaking to Rolling Stone, Beck revealed some information regarding his forthcoming album, the follow-up to 2014’s Morning Phase. Dubbed Colors, the Greg Kurstin-produced album promises to be an upbeat one.

The album’s set for an October release date, but interestingly enough, Beck told Rolling Stone that he could’ve released Colors “a year or two ago.” But good things come to those who wait, right? According to Beck, the album’s neither retro nor modern, and due to the complexity of the songs, it took a while to get everything together.

Beck will be opening up for U2 on several dates in September, with the album dropping sometime the following month. So, while we wait on the new album, revisit 2016’s “Wow.”
