About Dan Luke and The Raid:

Dan Luke and The Raid is a five piece psych pop band from Bowing Green, Ky consisting of Daniel Shultz, Kendrick Brent , Patrick Stewart , Dylan Graves, and Anthony Joiner. Shultz and Brent have been playing in bands together since high school, cutting their teeth playing house parties and bars that would take their fake I.D.'s. Shultz also happens to be youngest brother of Matt and Brad Shultz from the Cage the Elephant. Growing up Shultz was alway weary of the inevitable comparisons between him and his brothers, however, overcoming that fear is what enabled him to find his own sound.

"I think what pops out to me most about Daniel is he has such a keen musical sensibility and broad taste for such a young kid. He’s far beyond where Matt and I were at his age musically”, says Dan Luke’s oldest brother Brad.

Black Cat Heavy Metal was officially released on Spotify June 8th and has reached 160K views on Spotify already!

The song was played on Sirius/XM station XMU on the 8th of June as part of Cage The Elephant’s Summer listening Musts and was played on Sirius/XM Alternative Nation on the Advanced Placement Program.

Dan Luke and The Raid premiered the music video for their song "Black Cat Heavy Metal" via an Entertainment Weekly “Breaking Big” feature which highlights artists “topping the charts, going viral, and ruling our earbuds.” EW says “Black Cat Heavy Metal” sounds “both retro and futuristic” and compares the Bowling Green, KY band to “The Beatles at their “Helter Skelter”-heaviest, early My Morning Jacket, [and] Pavement.”

The band just finished a very successful run opening up for Declan McKenna and they were Warpaints special guest at a Lollapalooza after party. The band has since confirmed dates opening up for The Weeks, Okey Dokey and Ron Gallo.
