Dave Grohl Explains The Genesis Of "Concrete And Gold" Via Sick Cartoon

The birth of the Foo Fighters' newest album, Concrete and Gold, has been a dream of Dave Grohl's, and it’s been many years in the making.

One day, Dave heard a song from the modern jazz band The Bird and The Bee, run by Greg Kurstin. It just so happens that Greg is a musical genius, and he also happens to be the biggest producer in the music industry with artists like Adele and Sia in his portfolio. He's so in demand that there is a line going out the door to record with him. But after a drunken night in Hawaii, Greg agreed to do the Foos' next record.

Next Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men gets roped in to do the record. Then Dave asks the king of smooth jazz Dave Koz to come and record with them. Next, Alison Mosshart of The Kills is in. Now Justin Timberlake wants to be on the record. Not to mention Paul McCartney drums on one of the tracks too!
