Scientists develop bionic 'Luke Skywalker' arm to help amputees feel again

Researchers at the University of Utah, Blackrock Microsystems and DEKA have developed a prosthetic arm which allows patients to regain their sense of touch. 

The team added sensory feedback to an advanced bionic arm dubbed the 'Luke' arm, inspired by the robotic arm Luke Skywalker dons in "The Empire Strikes Back."

Keven Walgamott, who was a participant in the study, said in a press release: “It almost put me to tears. It was really amazing. I never thought I would be able to feel in that hand again.”
