The old gang's back together!

February 9, 2020

For the first time since leaving the band in 2008, John Frusciante performed as a member of Red Hot Chili Peppers on Saturday at a Tony Hawk Foundation memorial for Andrew Burkle.

The RHCP band members were joined by Jane’s Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins, playing in place of Chad Smith (aka Will Ferrell's doppelganger).  They played Iggy Pop’s “I Wanna Be Your Dog,” Gang of Four’s “Not Great Men,” and their very own “Give It Away.”

Frusciante also performed alongside ex-RHCP guitarist Dave Navarro for a rendition of Jane’s Addictions's “Mountain Song.”
